A’s Lawrence Butler Slams Umpires, Calls for ABS in MLB

“ABS, I’m fed up with the umpires,” Butler said, ripping missed strike calls. The A’s outfielder, batting .232 with 17 homers and 48 RBIs, praised Triple-A’s challenge system: “Up here, they don’t give a f---.” ABS has been on trial since 2019 and is slated for MLB's regular season use starting in 2026. It allows teams to challenge umpire calls.
