Giants rookie Carter was benched for the first defensive series against Green Bay for what he called a midweek “mistake,” but he denied an Athletic report that he slept through a walkthrough. Carter wrote he was “actually doing recovery” and took responsibility. Mike Kafka called it a coach’s decision and said he expects Carter to keep growing.
