Thielen asked the Vikings to release him so he could join a contender for the final weeks of his 12-year career, and the team agreed. His return this offseason hadn’t worked out as Minnesota fell to 4-8, shifted to a rookie QB, and his snaps dropped to under 14 since Week 3.
