Mannarino progressed after Shelton retired from their US Open clash with a shoulder injury, the score tied 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. “He would honestly have probably won that match, so it’s unfortunate for him and very lucky for me,” he admitted. The 37-year-old added, “I was enjoying my time on court… still learning new things every day.”
