McCutchen said Phillies fans were “always very receptive,” and they showed it again with a strong Opening Day ovation. The former Phillie then made his return count, going 4-for-9 with a homer, 4 RBI and 2 runs in the series for Texas. The welcome was warm, but his bat still helped the Rangers leave Philadelphia with a series win.
