Andrew Whitworth Says NFL Players Have Every Right to Be Frustrated Over Grass Fields

“I would definitely be” frustrated, Whitworth said when asked about the NFL installing grass at seven turf stadiums for the FIFA World Cup while players continue pushing for natural surfaces. “Everyone wants to play on grass because you feel better,” Whitworth added, arguing turf “zaps you of all your energy.” The NFL, however, maintains there are no statistically significant injury differences between grass and synthetic fields.
