McCullers was scratched from his scheduled start against the Twins about three hours before first pitch. Manager Joe Espada revealed McCullers had been throwing through shoulder pain "for a while". "He’s been pitching through it. But this week, he wasn’t able to get rid of it," Espada said. McCullers is the fourth member of Houston's season-opening starting rotation to be on the IL.
