Per reports, Alvarez requested a face-to-face meeting with Atletico's directors in Madrid to discuss his future with the club. However, he was informed that no immediate talks would take place. Madrid expects to see him when he returns for the pre-season camp on August 10. Atletico have been rigid in their stance not to entertain any offer from Barcelona.
