ATP Sets New Extreme Heat Protocols

ATP will enforce WBGT-based heat rules tour-wide. If the index hits 30.1°C (86.2°F), players may take a 10-minute cooling break after the second set for hydration, a shower, or kit change. If WBGT exceeds 32.2°C (90.0°F), officials will suspend play. Umpires will monitor courtside readings to trigger each step. The policy aims to reduce heat stress and medical risk.
