Big Ten Circulates 24-Team CFP Plan, Would Eliminate Title Games

The Big Ten is circulating an internal proposal for a 24-team College Football Playoff that would eliminate conference championship games and expand no later than 2029. The model features 23 at-large teams plus one Group of Six spot, eight first-round byes, and multiple on-campus games. A 16-team format could begin in 2027 as a transitional step.
