Bob Melvin Returns to Athletics Front Office as Special Assistant

Melvin is back with Oakland as a special assistant in baseball operations, the club announced. He managed the A’s from 2011-21, winning three AL West titles and reaching the playoffs six times, plus two AL Manager of the Year awards. The 64-year-old last managed the Giants in 2024-25. Melvin owns 1,678 wins across 22 seasons, 20th all-time.
