Brazil Suspends Player Until Injured Rival Returns

Brazilian football has introduced an unprecedented punishment after Inter defender Victor Gabriel fractured Cruzeiro forward Gabriel Pec’s tibia with a reckless tackle. A sports court ruled Gabriel cannot play again until Pec is medically cleared, with the ban capped at 180 days. Judges said the usual one-to-six match suspension was not enough given the injury’s severity.
