“I’m okay with putting that person on the shelf. I’ve brought closure to that in my life,” Cam said. When asked why he hasn’t officially retired from the NFL, Newton admitted, “I still miss football. Use your sport, don’t allow your sport to use you.” He added that he had to do the work on himself before reaching that point.
