“He put himself in a really good position,” Mendoza said after the Mets reassigned reliever prospect Lambert to minor-league camp. Mendoza praised Lambert’s “100 mph” stuff but said development remains: “getting him throwing the ball consistently over the plate.” He added the club is “pretty confident” Lambert will help at some point this season, with Triple-A the next step.
