Carolina Panthers became the fifth team in NFL history to reach the playoffs with a losing record, finishing 8-9 in 2025. Every such team has either come from the NFC South or faced it in the first round, including the 2010 Seattle Seahawks, 2014 Carolina Panthers, 2020 Washington Commanders, and 2022 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
