Engelbert said the WNBA is “not unique” as fans navigate rising subscription costs and scattered broadcasts, calling it part of the U.S. media “free market.” She said the league has grown from 15 national games when she arrived to 216 of 330 this season. While the coverage has grown, so has the price: Nearly $100 monthly to watch WNBA games.
