Chargers Release Jerry Rice’s Son Amid Practice Squad Uncertainty

The Chargers released rookie WR Brenden Rice on Monday. Insider Mike Garofolo noted, “A spot on the practice squad is possible, if he clears waivers.” Rice was drafted in the seventh round, 225th overall, in 2024. A crowded WR group featuring Keenan Allen, Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, and Derius Davis didn’t help the rookie’s chances this year.
