Chiefs’ New Stadium in Kansas Set to Receive $1.8 Billion in Public Funding

As part of the new stadium deal, which replaces Arrowhead, the Chiefs will receive $1.8 billion in public funding for a $3 billion stadium in Kansas, the largest public subsidy for a U.S. sports stadium. The state will own the stadium and rent it to the Chiefs for $7 million in the first year. The Chiefs must occupy the stadium for 30 years.
