Chiefs Restructure George Karlaftis’ Contract to Create $7.7 Million in Cap Space
The Chiefs have restructured George Karlaftis’ contract, converting $9.685 million of his 2026 salary into a signing bonus to free up $7.7 million in cap space, per Spotrac. The 2022 first-round pick started 15 games last season, finishing with 48 tackles, six sacks and a fumble recovery. Karlaftis is entering the final year of his rookie contract after Kansas City exercised his fifth-year option.
