During the 2025 season, Payne lost the maximum amount of money due to league discipline, totaling $1,116,667. This loss was the result of a one-game suspension for "striking/kicking/kneeing" on November 10, 2025. Payne was ejected in the second quarter for punching Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown. St. Brown was subsequently fined $12,172 for his role in the exchange.
