Congress Pushes Back on NFL’s ‘87 Percent of Games on Free TV’ Claim

The House Judiciary Committee is disputing the NFL’s claim that 87 percent of games are available on free television. In a report released before a congressional hearing, the committee argued the figure only means games air on a broadcast station somewhere in the country, not that fans can actually watch them. The report says the average NFL game is available in just 39 percent of U.S. households.
