Cowboys Offered Brian Schottenheimer OC Role if He Wasn't Named HC

Schottenheimer revealed he had an “agreement” with the Cowboys to remain as offensive coordinator if he wasn't hired as head coach. “We had made an agreement that I would stay here no matter what,” Schottenheimer said, despite interest from other teams. “I really wanted to be the head coach and put our fingerprint, our blueprint on it,” he added, saying it was “what God had planned.”
