Cubs are “close” to acquiring Cabrera from Miami, per Ken Rosenthal. The 27-year-old is controlled through 2028 and projected for $3.7M in arbitration. He posted a 3.53 ERA over 137 2/3 innings in 2025 but hit the IL twice (blister, sprained elbow). With the Yankees backing off, the Cubs see Cabrera as a depth starter and an innings-eater.
