Junior said on his podcast that Amy told him he should run the Daytona 500 next year. After someone asked, "Is Dale Jr. engagement farming?", Earnhardt replied, "I only wanted folks to know Amy wasn't to blame for my retirement" from Cup. He felt "she got unnecessary blame" back in 2017, and said he won't be racing in Cup again.
