Damon Jones Pleads Guilty and Apologizes to the NBA in Landmark Sports Gambling Case
Jones became the first of more than 30 defendants to plead guilty in the NBA gambling sweep, entering a wire fraud conspiracy plea in Brooklyn federal court Tuesday. "I would like to sincerely apologize to the court, my family, my peers and also the National Basketball Association," Jones said. He faces up to 27 months in prison and forfeits $35,000.
