“All they want to hear is someone, take accountability,” said Whitner on the 49ers. “We know we haven’t drafted well, we’re trying to figure out why,” he urged. Whitner added, “accountability is number one,” saying fans haven’t heard that, instead hearing about “process.” He pushed for adapting: “get outside of your process, so we can have success and win a championship.”
