This turned into an all out scuffle with Dort threatening to punch the rookie as they held onto each other's jerseys. Benches cleared to separate them who were still jawing at each other. With 1:14 left in the game, the Suns and Nets were scrambling to get a loose ball. Players from both teams were diving and grappling for the ball. Brooks tried to intervene and take possession. Demin took exception to that and shoved Brooks to protect his Nets teammate fighting for the ball. Referees intervened to prevent a brawl.
