Edwin Díaz Explains Move to Dodgers: ‘I Chose to Be Here’

“Dodgers did a great job recruiting me,” Díaz said on Saturday, calling it “a new journey.” Owner Steve Cohen labeled the exit “perplexing” after the Mets offered three years, $66M; the Dodgers landed him for three years, $69M without a counter. Díaz saved 144 games (2.93 ERA) from 2019-25. Devin Williams will now close for the Mets.
