Emperor Naruhito Set For Rare World Baseball Classic Appearance In Japan-Australia

Emperor Naruhito is slated to attend Japan’s World Baseball Classic game against Australia, marking the first time in nearly 60 years a sitting Japanese emperor has attended a professional baseball game. The last such appearance came in November 1966, when Emperor Showa watched a Japan-U.S. friendly. Naruhito previously attended WBC games in 2006 and 2009 as crown prince.
