Expert Witness Slams NASCAR for Monopolistic Practices Against Teams in Court Testimony
Edward Snyder, a professor of economics who has testified in more than 30 cases, accused NASCAR of anticompetitive business practices. NASCAR controls all bargaining because “teams don’t have anywhere else to sell their services.” Snyder said. The exclusivity agreements eliminated teams' ability to race anywhere else, forcing them to accept revenue-sharing agreements below market value, leading to reduced valuations.
