Falcons Releasing WR Darnell Mooney After Two Seasons in Atlanta

The Falcons are planning to release Mooney, per Ian Rapoport, with the receiver set to count $18.4 million against the salary cap. Mooney had 96 catches for 1,435 yards and six touchdowns in two seasons with Atlanta and was scheduled to make nearly $12 million in 2026. The 28-year-old averaged more than 13 yards per catch in each of the last three seasons.
