FIFA Transfer Reform Adds Player Cut, Payouts and Release Clauses

FIFA’s reported transfer reforms include three major changes: players will receive a 5% cut of their transfer fees, with an option to waive it, while release clauses become mandatory in all contracts. Clubs releasing players for 2026 World Cup will receive €290M ($335M) from FIFA’s $2.4B fund, and participating federations are set to receive €760M ($878M) under the reported plan.
