Augusta National’s par-5 15th, Firethorn, again caused chaos Thursday, producing three quadruple bogeys for the first time since 1998. Fred Couples, Danny Willett and Robert MacIntyre each made 9 on the hole as it played to a brutal 5.121 average. Scottie Scheffler called the scene “carnage” after even good shots flirted with water on Augusta’s slickest green complex.
