For Carmelo Anthony, Gerry McNamara’s Syracuse Return Felt Like Destiny
Anthony backed Syracuse’s hire of former teammate McNamara, calling it “the right thing to do” after GMAC proved himself at Siena. Melo said McNamara “checks all the boxes,” noted Syracuse was always his “North Star,” and predicted he’ll “reignite the Syracuse community.” He also called him a relentless worker who can develop his son Kiyan Anthony’s game.

Illinois HC Praises His Team’s Defense After Upsetting Houston in the Sweet 16
Brad Underwood praised his Illinois team for restricting a great Houston offense in their 65-55 win. "I thought we did a really good jobe protecting the paint and not giving them layups," Underwood said. He gave all the credit to his players, who did a great job. Illinois, being a 3rd seed, upsetted a Houston team who looked Championship-bound.
