Former Eagles QB Sam Howell Signs One-Year Deal With the Cowboys

The Cowboys have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with former Eagles QB Sam Howell. Howell, who spent the 2025 season as a backup in Philadelphia, joins his fifth NFL team since 2023. The 25-year-old signal-caller will compete with Joe Milton III and Will Grier for the primary backup role behind Dak Prescott. Howell previously started 17 games for the Commanders in 2023.
