Yevgeny Kafelnikov said Medvedev, now 26-18 in 2025 and ranked No. 18, “doesn’t want to listen to anyone… whoever you give him now, he won’t see that person as a coach.” After early US Open defeat and splitting with Gilles Cervara and Eric Hernandez, Kafelnikov added, “Radical changes won’t bring much benefit… next year he’ll already be 30.”
