German Media Veteran Honored by FIFA After Covering 17 World Cups

Hartmut Scherzer, a German media veteran, has attended 17 World Cups, an extraordinary run across generations of football coverage. FIFA recognized his dedication by presenting him with a mini World Cup trophy inside the press box. The 88-year-old's first FIFA World Cup was the 1962 hosted by Chile. Scherzer is also believed to have covered 21 Olympic Games since 1964.
