FIFA’s clean-venue rules pushed Gillette Stadium, renamed Boston Stadium for the World Cup, to hide non-sponsor branding during the tournament. Instead of a plain cover, Gillette masked its logo with a shaving-foam-style strip, sparking applause online for the marketing genius move. Levi’s had pulled a similar move in Santa Clara, turning its covered sign into an Instagram profile gag.
