Guardians’ David Fry Suffers Broken Nose After 99 mph Fastball

Fry sustained facial fractures when a 99 mph pitch from Tarik Skubal struck him during Cleveland’s 5-2 win over Detroit. Manager Stephen Vogt said, “He’s upright, alert.” Steven Kwan called it “really scary,” praising Fry’s toughness. A shaken Skubal added, “There’s things bigger than the game.” Fry was moved to Cleveland Clinic for further tests.
