Heinz Turns Taped-Up Bottles at World Cup Into Marketing Win
World Cup stadiums served Heinz condiments, but FIFA’s sponsor rules forced bottles to be covered with black tape because Heinz isn’t an official tournament partner. The brand turned it into a campaign, posting taped-up bottles with the statement: “Unofficial stadium ketchup is here.” Levi’s, facing similar logo cover-ups, replied, “dang. you too?” Heinz answered, “we’ll get thru this together.”
