Illinois QB Luke Altmyer Calls Transfer, NIL Era “Wild”

Luke Altmyer said he chose to return to Illinois despite heavy outside interest after the 2024 season. “It was wild,” Altmyer told On3, describing today’s transfer and NIL landscape as “crazy” and “hard to navigate.” He said other programs reached out, but he wanted to stay with Bret Bielema and be “part of a program bigger than myself.”
