Each car undergoes five inspection stages before being allowed to race. After chassis and underbody checks, height, weight, and body templates are verified. Then the Optical Scanning Station maps every contour to a CAD model within 0.150 inches. A final lift inspection wraps up the three-hour process, where even tiny deviations can mean penalties or disqualification for the crew.
