Ismael Kone Out for the Rest of the World Cup After Leg Fracture Surgery

Kone underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured left leg sustained during Canada’s 6-0 win over Qatar, after a late challenge from Assim Madibo, who was sent off. “You could hear the bone snap,” said coach Jesse Marsch. Kone is expected to make a full recovery but is ruled out for the tournament. Nathan Saliba replaced him and scored.
