James Worthy Says Tyrese Maxey Earned His Respect After Calling Out Joel Embiid

Recalling a Sixers meeting from November of 2024, Worthy said he knew Maxey was solid when the guard spoke up and told Embiid, “You need to show up and lead us.” Worthy said, “Embiid was kind of late for practice sometimes, didn’t show up.” That's when Worthy knew Maxey "had the quality and the mental aspect to play the game."
