Jason Heyward Announces Retirement After 16 MLB Seasons

Heyward announced his retirement on MLB Central, ending a 16-season career that included five Gold Glove Awards and a starring role on Chicago’s 2016 title team. The former Braves first-rounder also played for the Cardinals, Dodgers, Astros and Padres, leaving the game with 1,575 hits, one All-Star nod and one of the era’s steadiest defensive resumes.
