Halfway through the first quarter, Kidd was ejected for choice words he aimed at Scott Foster. Kidd called for a timeout, wanting to challenge a goaltending call on Max Christie. However, while he was granted the timeout, Foster refused to allow him the challenge. This made Kidd furious and he confronted Foster with choice words, leading to his ejection.
