Jim Irsay’s Pink Floyd Guitar Sells for Record $14.6M

A guitar once played by Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour from Jim Irsay’s collection sold for a record $14.6 million at auction. The 1969 Fender Stratocaster, known as the “Black Strat,” was used on six Pink Floyd albums between 1970 and 1983. Christie’s initially estimated the guitar would sell for between $2 million and $3 million.
