Jon Jones Reflects on Personal Bond With Khamzat Chimaev in Chechnya

“Khamzat and I have met in the past a few times. (But) this was the most personal we’ve ever been,” Jones said. He visited Chechnya in Nov 2025 at Ramzan Kadyrov’s invitation, sharing dinner and a friendly wrestling session with Chimaev. “I think he’s a good man. I got to see his heart. I’m very honored to have that level of respect from him,” Jones added.
