Caballero made history in the fourth inning of Yankees-Giants Opening Night 2026 by becoming the first player to use MLB’s Automated Ball-Strike challenge system. He challenged a called strike to open the at-bat, but the call stood. Teams get two challenges per game and keep them only if successful, with only the hitter, catcher or pitcher allowed to trigger review.
