“We made history,” Olazábal said, praising Europe’s start and a four-balls sweep that built “a large cushion.” He admitted the finish frayed nerves: “toughest two-and-a-half hours of my career.” He praised the U.S's fightback and said, “If Lowry didn't make that putt, the U.S. would've won.” He thinks Europe "should’ve closed it earlier." But Lowry's putt brought all emotions.
